"Brothers and Friends"

Remembering Adan

My Thoughts of Adan,

It's very hard, and difficult to describe or understand the
different kind's relationships we all had with Adan.

To some he was "Son" to others "Bro", to some "just Adan"
and to many of us he was larger-than-life.

To the patients he took care of he was their only friend,
often going way out-of-his-way to help them.

I remember Adan would come over to get some movies to
watch with this 93 year old man he cared for.
He'd watch football with him, talk to him, listen to him, BBQ
with him; he didn't just care for him, he really liked the guy.

Now think about it, whether we got paid for it or not,
how many of us here would really do that.

Never-the-less, Adan affected that man's life,
just like he changed all of our lives in many, many special ways.

How and when this happened I don't know …

I'll leave it at that, "It just happened".

Adan had a real enthusiasm for life.
He loved life and life loved him back.

There was always laughter when he was around,
LOUD laughter and lots of it too. You knew when Adan was around,

did I forget to mention LOUD too?

The sound of LAUGHTER, Ahh, the sound of LIFE…

The sound of Familia and Friends enjoying each other's company…
That sound (laughter) is the language of
Family and Friends saying I LOVE YOU!

Mr. and Mrs. Payan you should be very proud of yourselves.
You did a fantastic job in raising Adan.

He always spoke so very highly about all of you.
He was very proud of his family.

I NEVER, EVER, even once, heard him say
anything negative about anybody.

Adan was a very special, loving, giving, and respectful person.

When he'd come over to our house he would always
say something to make us all laugh; Adan would
take our minds off of anything and everything
that was bothering us... That was Adan.

Adan always had something to say, but most importantly
he always made time to listen.

Adan loved to talk to us about his family and
especially his kids, and we loved hearing about them too.
He would take out his cell phone and
show us their most recent pictures, how big they were getting.
I really believed they had their own reality show!

His Friends (all of you) were an extension of his Family.
I don't think there was any difference to him.

To him Friends are Familia! You were all his Familia!!
That's Adan for you…

I only wished that I could have known him sooner.…

To those of you that knew him for a longer time
consider yourselves privileged and blessed…

But we feel fortunate to have known Adan for the time we did,

and we consider ourselves honored to call him a Friend…

When Adan would come over to our house the first thing
out of his mouth was "Hello Mr. Ruben how's the Family",
he would ask how our business was doing, what
I thought about this or that, or about a big screen
TV he was interested in buying, his cool hat he was sporting,
about the Raiders, about A's, about anything.

What I remember the most was the way Adan made
me feel when we were just talking. While he sat there
listening to and laughing at all of my dumb jokes
and boring stories, he made me feel like I was the
most important person in the world to him at
that moment. That nothing else was more important to him.

And for those of you who knew his personality,
you know of his sense of humor, he was a real funny guy.
He would sometimes call us on the phone and say… never mind…

If you never heard some funny stories and want to
hear some just ask any of his friends.
Danny, Joey Smith, Tury, Javi, Rubes, Ceasar, Lee,
Richard, Mike, Joey, Steve, Franky,
Nick, Matt, Willy, Kevin, Vinny, Nicky,
and the rest of you guys, you know what I'm talking about…

Adan Loved life & life Loved him back!

Standing up here after looking at all his pictures
and seeing all his Familia and Friends, I now miss him even more.

I know we all miss him!

ADAN WE ALL LOVE YOU
AND WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!

You will forever be in our hearts and prayers…

May Our Lord Jesus Christ forever keep you close to his Heart…

GOD BLESS YOU,

WE LOVE YOU Adan …

I think if Adan was here and speaking
to you right now he would probably say:

"Don't put off seeing family and friends until "someday",
or wait until "one-of-these-days" to write those letters
or tell your Mom & Dad, Brother or Sister, your
kids and friends how much you truly Love them.

Try not to hold back, or save anything that would
add laughter and sparkle to their lives.

And every morning when you open your eyes
remind yourself that it is a blessing… A gift from God.
Each day become aware of God's gifts, the
"sweet things" of the world that He has given just for you.
Remember and never forget…

Isaac, Lena, little Ricky, Emma
don't be in such a hurry to grow up.

Go walk in the rain, go to the park and dig up
some worms, pick up your polls and go fishing
with Grandpa & Grandma, or Mo and Danny, Rick…
or call up one my friends they will take you…
Remember and never forget…

And to the rest of my "Familia & Friends" find the innocence
in being a kid again. Look at the flowers, the birds, look
and listen to the little children and respect them.
Teach them about the Love of God; teach them
to respect their parents and elders.

Remember how it felt when we were kids and
we used to go outside barefoot and feel the
wet green grass of the cool morning,
when we used to walk in the rain and snow.

Slow down and experience again the sweet taste
of raindrops and snowflakes as they fall gently in your mouth.

Go outside and get on your hands and knees with
the little ones and shoot marbles in the yard,
go fishing, ride more merry-go-rounds,
eat more ice cream, take more walks, watch more sunsets…
smile, laugh, cry and never be afraid to
show your feelings, your heart, or Your Love, LIVE!!!
Remember and never forget…

Every day, every minute, every second,
every breath you take truly is a gift from God.
Remember and never forget…

I want to thank my Mom, and Dad, for teaching
me about the value of Familia, and the
rest of you guys for showing me how
priceless real Friends are,

Thank you for listening to me, for caring for
me and for loving me unconditionally…
I Love You…Mom… I Love You…Dad …
I Love You…Bro… I Love You…Sis
I will remember and will never forget…

Lorena my love, Isaac my pride and joy
and Charisma "Lena" my sweet and gentle little princess,
I thanked God every single minute
and day for blessing me with you.

I would often times ask Jesus, Dear Lord, why me?
I don't deserve to be so happy, so blessed.

Isaac & Lena the first time I held you in my arms,
you looked up at me, and smiled ….. and I cried.

Thank you for showing me to always Love with
both arms wide open and to Love with laughter and tears.

Isaac & Lena don't change for anybody,
be genuine, be real, and be you.

Remember and never forget that Jesus and I Love
You very, very much. And I will always Love You.

And to All my Familia and Friends...

One Day We Will All Be Together in Heaven

I LOVE YOU ALL…. GOD BLESS YOU!

I WILL REMEMBER AND NEVER FORGET YOU!

"LOVE ADAN!"
